Advanced Microneedling is a non-ablative, non-thermal (no heat or light) treatment designed to create tiny, controlled micro-wounds to the skin.

Advanced Microneedling is performed with a state-of-the-art microneedling device for treating fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and acne scars on the face, neck and decolletage. More than a basic needling therapy, this precision device can be tailored for individual skin concerns and is suitable for almost every skin type.

As the device glides over the surface of the skin, tiny punctures are created within the epidermis and dermis that encourage the skin’s own natural repair and growth response triggering inflammatory mediators. This injury works to transform collagen fibres, resulting in a stronger and thicker skin.

What can I expect after?

Post treatment, your skin may look as though it has sunburn. The redness will last differently depending on the individual, but most clients see a reduction after 24 to 48 hours. Some dryness, pinpoint bleeding and bruising may also be present, which is entirely normal and will resolve within a few days. We recommend our Post Treatment Recovery kit following to aid in your recovery.

Does it hurt?

Advanced Microneedling is an intensive treatment that creates incredible results, and for some clients you may feel a slight pressure and prickling sensation as the treatment is performed.

As the treatment is fast, any discomfort is short lived and tolerable.

How long between treatments?

Depending on the concern that we are treating, your treatments will be scheduled between 2-4 weeks apart. Clients usually begin to see the initial results within a week of their first procedure.

Get tailored advice

For Fitzpatrick skin types 4+ you will need to prepare your skin for 2 weeks prior with a tyrosinase inhibitor such as our Pigment Perfect Serum.

Avoid excessive sun exposure two weeks before and after your Advanced Microneedling treatment.

Cosmetic Aesthetic clients should leave 2 – 4 weeks between their last cosmetic injecting treatment and Advanced Microneedling. Your therapist will guide you on how long you should wait.

If you are prone to hay fever or eczema, we recommend taking antihistamine medication prior to the treatment.

Following your Advanced Microneedling treatment, the following aftercare will help to sooth, hydrate and protect the skin.

PRODUCTS: Restoring Serum, Treatment Recovery Cream and Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF50+

IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT: The skin may appear flushed and there may be warmth in the treated skin.

THINGS TO AVOID: Avoid the gym, swimming pools and sauna for 24 hours. Avoid products containing active ingredients for 3-5 days. Avoid direct sun exposure and exfoliation for 7 days for all treatments.

FOLLOWING TREATMENT: Your skin will be pink and warm. This may be present for 1-3 days.

POST-TREATMENT CARE: Day of treatment: use Restoring Serum, Treatment Recovery Cream + Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF50+. Day 3: resume specialty serums Day 7: resume all products and exfoliation.

What should I expect after my treatment?

There may be pinpoint bleeding and/or bruising for a couple of days. Within a few days, you will notice a smoother, brighter and more radiant appearance. However, the full effects of the treatment do not appear until several months later.

Does Advanced Microneedling hurt?

It does depend on your individual pain threshold. Some people don’t find the sensation, while others can find it uncomfortable.

Is Advanced Microneedling safe?

Yes, Advanced Microneedling is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. The tip of the pen holds a series of tiny surgical steel needles which pierce the skin. The needle cartridge is disposable and individual to each client, making it safe each and every time you come for your appointment.

What is the treatment time and frequency?

Advanced Microneedling is a 30-minute procedure to treat face, neck and decolletage. Results may become visible straight after the procedure; however most clients will require multiple treatments for best results. Some conditions may require 3 treatments while something like acne scarring most likely requires a minimum of 6 treatments.
