Getting ready for your upcoming treatment
Thank you for choosing Clear Skincare for your aesthetic treatment – we can’t wait to help you look and feel your best. Successful cosmetic treatment relies on various factors, and to ensure optimal, safe, and effective results, we kindly request that you adhere to the following instructions.
Here’s 9 things to you help you prepare for your appointment:
Snack: It is advisable to have a small meal or snack prior to your appointment.
Makeup: Please refrain from wearing makeup on the day of your appointment.
Timing: Schedule your appointment at least two weeks ahead of any special events to allow for complete healing. It typically takes around 14 days for the injection results to settle and there is a possibility of bruising and swelling.
Skin concerns: Ensure that you are in good health without any active skin infections in the treatment areas. If you have a rash, cold sore, or blemishes in the areas to be treated, it is recommended to reschedule your appointment at 2 least hours in advance.
Medications: Prior to and after treatment, avoid over-the counter medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, NSAIDs, herbal supplements, and Omega-3 capsules, as they can act as anti-inflammatory agents or blood thinners. If you bruise easily or take blood thinners as prescribed, the healing process may take longer. However, it is essential to consult with your regular physician before discontinuing any of your regular medications.
Vaccines, illness and dental: To ensure your safety, please avoid receiving dermal fillers for two weeks prior to and following any vaccines, immunisations, procedures, illnesses, or dental work.
Pregnancy & Pre-existing conditions:
Treatment is not recommended if you are attempting to conceive, pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any of the treatment's ingredients, or have any neurological disorders. If you have any doubts about how these conditions may apply to you, please contact our clinic for clarification.
Travel: It’s strongly recommended that you carefully plan any flying and travel arrangements for the two weeks following your procedure. It is important to have access to appropriate medical care in the rare event of an adverse reaction after the procedure.
Alcohol: To minimise the risk of additional bruising, it is advised to avoid consuming alcoholic beverages 24 hours before and after your treatment
What to expect on the day and after your treatment
Following a comprehensive facial assessment and a discussion about your treatment goals, dermal filler medication is typically administered through small needles into the targeted facial areas. To ensure your comfort during the procedure, a topical anaesthetic may be applied. In some cases, a local anaesthetic medication may be injected into or around the specific area(s) to be treated.
After the injections, you may experience mild tenderness, stinging, redness, swelling, and bruising. Don’t worry, this is completely normal. But please consider these factors when planning your activities the day after treatment.
For at least 24 hours post treatment, we kindly request that you refrain from applying makeup to the treated areas. This will allow your skin to recover and minimise any potential irritation or infection.
For at least 24 hours post treatment, please avoid vigorous exercise as this can increase swelling and the chance of shifting or displacing the filler material, which can lead to uneven distribution of the filler and affect the desired cosmetic outcome.
Please note that treatment fees are payable on the day of your appointment and that cosmetic injectables are not covered by Medicare.
